Top 10 Airports Use UFIS®
Three of the top 10 busiest airports in the world use UFIS Airport Solutions' (UFIS-AS) Universal Flight Information System (UFISŪ). These rankings for Singapore Changi Airport (6), Dubai International Airport (8), and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (9) are based on international passenger travel in 2007, according to Airports Council International (ACI).
Bangalore International Airport
As the new Bangalore International Airport was making its final preparation for opening, it needed an information system on its website to provide passengers with up-to-date information. So the airport turned to two of its trusted partners -- UFIS Airport Solutions (UFIS-AS) and Oracle -- for a solution. Working together, the two provided a web portal, just in time for the airport's opening in May 2008.
Hyderabad International Airport
When the new Rajiv Gandhi International Airport opened at Shamsabad in Hyderabad in March 2008 with UFISŪ running, it was the first of several successes for UFIS Airport Solutions (UFIS-AS) in India. The first green-field airport built in India with public-private partnership began operations in March with UFISŪ products playing a key role in its flight planning, apron resource management, and flight information display.
Athens International Airport
As Athens International Airport in Greece was building their new airport, they called upon UFIS Airport Solutions (UFIS-AS) to provide not only the flight information display system (FIDS) but also its operational expertise to ensure that the airport would be ready to go into operation from day one. The result? The operational aspects of the airport were ready three months ahead of schedule!
Singapore Airport Terminal Services
At Changi Airport, Singapore, Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) is the leading provider of integrated ground handling and in-flight catering services, where it handles some 450 flight movements per day. SATS needs to schedule a challenging total of 10.000 personnel for long-term planning and 4.000 for daily deployment. To manage this complex task, SATS uses UFIS Airport Solutions' Universal Flight Information System (UFIS).
Lisbon Airport
At Lisbon airport, UFIS Airport Solutions' Universal Flight Information System's (UFISŪ) main purpose is to support the airport's operational department. From its modular product package UFIS-AS installed a Flight Information Processing (FIPS) system using its own Airport Operational Database (AODB) as the heart of the Flight Information System.
